Flood Defence

SHARES are available in Horsetrader’s promising 3yo Flood Defence, described by trainer Chris Wall as ‘a winner waiting to happen’.

Well-bred from a classy Juddmonte family, the Harbour Watch filly showed plenty of promise in four outings last season, including when just beaten in a photo at Wolverhampton on only her second start.

She was unsuited by a slowly-run race that turned into a sprint on her final appearance at Chelmsford - where she uncharacteristically missed the break after being held in the stalls for a long time - and is potentially well handicapped as a result.

Brought along with typical patience by Wall, she has wintered well in preparation for her return to action, with a turf campaign over 1m-1m2f planned from early spring onwards.

The generally stronger all-round pace of turf races should play to the strengths of a horse who has consistently shown a willing attitude, both on the gallops and the racecourse.

Flood Defence is valued at £12,500 and syndicate/partnership details are as follows (figures quoted include all training fees, vets fees, entry fees, jockey fees etc + syndicate management fees - as part of the package there will be regular trips, ‘special interest’ events and get-togethers organised for shareholders aimed at enhancing the ‘social’ enjoyment of racehorse ownership):

  • Buy option - £4,250 per 10% share for 10 months from 1st Feb (£425 per month)
  • Lease  option - £3,000 per 10% share for 10 months from 1st Feb  (£300 per month)

At the end of the 10-month period, we make a syndicate/partnership decision whether to keep her in training for another year or sell on the open market. Please note that if you were to go for the Lease option, you would split any prize money owed to you 50-50 with Horsetrader One (registered owner of the filly) and you would not be entitled to any share of revenue from her sale (if applicable).
