Epicuris 25-1 NRNB 1pt each way
Read notes +£19,585.00
One of only two Group 1 winners in the field, bred to excel on this step up to 1m4f / return to quicker ground. Can be forgiven reappearance defeat in a bog and worth risking at the price despite concerns over how he'll take the preliminary's (has shown aversion to stalls but will be accompanied at start by renowned French horse whisperer).

Decisive winner of Chester Vase and that form boosted when runner-up landed a competitive trial at Goodwood next time. Half-brother to an Irish Leger winner so will stay trip standing on his head and sure to be ridden to exploit any stamina chinks in his rivals - of which there may be quite a few.

Resonant 4-1 2pts

Thriving since switch to forcing tactics and deserves extra credit for way he kicked again after setting strong pace at Goodwood last time. Up 9lb for that but should relish this step back up in trip and plenty more to come judged on pedigree/profile.

Course-and-distance winner at this meeting last year and runs off only a pound higher mark after mixed efforts since. Well-treated on his Lincoln fourth this spring and worth chancing at double-figure odds that first-time blinkers spark the necessary revival. Smart form on good and soft ground, so shouldn't be affected by what the weather does (possible thunderstorms forecast).

Stetchworth 6/1 2pts each way
Read notes +£20,785.00
Remains well-treated on his decisive win at Redcar last autumn (only fourth career start) and nothing gone right for him so far this season (twice run over wrong trip/ground and hampered early when favourite at Chelmsford). Well drawn to get on the pace early here and looks to have ideal trip/ground.

Absolutely So 11/1 1pt each way
Read notes +£20,745.00
Big, progressive 5yo who takes a step back in grade after failing to handle heavy ground in Champions' Day Sprint. Good record fresh, well drawn and the value against those who turn out quite quickly again after bold efforts in what was probably a sub-par Lockinge.

Marmot 5/1 2pts each way
Read notes +£20,625.00
Handicapped on progressive form in 7f maidens but bred to be much better suited by this step up to 1m2f and starts life in this sphere on potentially lenient mark for stable that has a good strike-rate at the track.

Storm Rock 7/1 2pts each way

Unlucky not to win over course and distance last time (badly hampered on rail two furlongs out, knocked back to last and forced to switch wide) and impressed with the way he picked up again on taxing ground after being stopped in his tracks. Open to a fair bit more improvement than the 3lb he's been put up and decent each-way value against strong-looking but possibly overbet favourite.

Rite To Reign 7/1 2pts each way

Did best of those held up off pace when staying on strongly into fourth at York last time, confirming the good impression he'd created on seasonal debut over inadequate trip. Has good course form and progressive throughout career to date so plenty in his favour turned out quickly again in his bid for compensation.

Royal Altitude 10/1 1pt each way

Improved significantly with each run last year and more races to be won with him judged on his reappearance fourth on handicap debut at Doncaster. That form already working out well and he ran better than finishing position suggests considering he pulled much too hard for first half of the race. Trainer said afterwards he would put a different bit on him next time to help him settle and if that works as planned, then he has good chance of getting much closer to morning favourite Get Knotted (finished one place ahead of him at Donny) on same terms. Decent value at double-figure odds.

Mr Win 11-2 2pts each way
Read notes +£22,025.00
Progressive last season and expected to continue on upward curve after promising reappearance effort in competitive handicap at Ascot a fortnight ago. That race, over a shorter trip, will have sharpened him up for this return to 7f, while William Buick is a significant jockey booking (25 per cent strike-rate for yard from just 12 rides).

Munaaser 6/1 1pt each way
Read notes +£22,005.00
Much-improved form since being gelded midway through last season and was drawn away from the main action when an excellent second to Gm Hopkins in the Silver Cambridgeshire when last seen. Weighted to give that rival more to think about here and relative value at twice the price with some firms, given the latter has to bounce back from a disappointing effort in the Lincoln.

Classic-bred colt and much to like about his two-year-old form considering astute trainer was on record as saying he would need time to develop. King Edward VII entry suggests it won't be long before he's tackling Group company and stable won this race with a similar high-class prospect in Al Kazeem four years ago, so worth chancing on seasonal return off potentially lenient mark.

Elidor 5/1 1pt each way
Read notes +£20,730.00
Boasts high-class handicap form (won King George V H'cap at Royal Ascot two years ago and placed in the Duke Of Edinburgh there and the Ebor last year) and shaped well on return from Dubai when third in competitive 1m4f handicap at Thirsk last month. Will be suited by this step back up to 1m6f, especially on fast ground, and has the class to defy top-weight in today's company.
