Horsetraders couldn’t have asked for More
Posted on 25 Oct 2019
A PARTY of HorseTrader members and friends enjoyed a thoroughly informative stable visit to Amy Murphy’s yard on Wednesday followed by a hospitality afternoon at Newmarket races - topped off by Gary Nutting’s sole tip of the day, Be More, winning at the 4-1 advised.

Our champion tipster, who organised the trip and interviewed Murphy at her Southgate Stables on the Hamilton Road, gave a confident 3-point recommendation to his Gold-service clients regarding the Andrew Balding-trained filly in the only non-2yo race on the card.

Partnered by William Buick, who rode a winner for HorseTrader’s syndicate ownership team when scoring on Flood Defence at Doncaster two years ago, Be More comfortably justified 5-2 favouritism after strong support.

There followed joyous scenes at the HorseTrader table in the superbly-appointed Champions Gallery Restaurant, where the group were treated to an excellent two-course roast lunch with drinks - augmented by a great view of the track overlooking the winning post.

Longstanding client Jamie Beighton (salestipster.co.uk) summed up the experience, saying: “A terrific day all round, starting with the visit to Amy’s yard and such a thrill to get a close-up view of stable star Kalashnikov (pictured) ahead of his scheduled return to Aintree on Sunday.

“Gary led the discussions and Amy was very accommodating, answering each and every one of our questions as she took us round the stables. It was fascinating to get a first-hand insight into one of the country’s up-and-coming training operations.

“Even better, we went away with the names of some very interesting horses in our notebooks - hopefully there’s a good few winners in there - followed by a great lunch in convivial surroundings at the course.

“I would unhesitatingly recommend this experience to anyone who wants a fun day out at the races and to learn more about all aspects of racing.”

Another member of the group, London-based Italian restaurant owner Efisio Fronteddu (http://www.mediterranea.co) added: “My customers include quite a few racing fans and this was right up there with the best days I’ve had following the sport

“Amy and her staff made us feel very welcome and I was impressed with the racecourse restaurant and facilities. The food was very good, service was friendly and efficient, and the view was excellent - a great place to watch the racing from.

“It’s a pity Andrea Atzeni, my fellow Sardinian, didn’t have a winner as I was looking forward to congratulating him again like I did at Epsom (won on Mountain Angel in April), but at least Frankie Dettori got on the scoresheet! Plus, of course, Gary’s big tip was successful so happy days.”
